Maddy and I were in the supermarket picking up a couple of things for shabbat. As we walked through the baking aisle, Maddy asked, "can we make cupcakes? Please? Pleeeease?" I shook my head and said, "no." She looked at me, narrowed her eyes and said, "can you say 'we'll see' instead?"
Am I that obvious?

Maddy likes to say to me, "Maybe means yes! Maybe means yes!" It comes out like a chant/cheer. Then she usually follows it up with, "Right?"
I like to answer, "Maybe."
I don't think she appreciates my humor. Yet. Well, maybe.
